In the late 1940's a group of travelers arrives at Hisega on the train, and each one has at least one secret! C.U. Sparkle, jeweler from Rapid City, is meeting a wealthy widow from Boston to select a high-priced wedding present for her daughter, Mary Finally. Mary, a bookish and lovely geologist, has landed a great catch, Howdy Reata, the attractive and capable foreman of the Hisega Dude Ranch. Howdy might be on the rebound from self-centered Hisega housekeeper Dora Dumpem, but he is a true gentleman who couldn't possibly be involved in the evening's nefarious activities!
Other characters include Freddie "Fingers" Steeler from Chicago and his girlfriend Crystal. You will meet jazz musicians from St. Louis, C.U. Sparkle's wife, Ima, and daughter, Ruby, and an ambitious east river policitian, Representative Tryon Bribeme, and his wife, Ida.
Hisega Lodge owner Hatcher Serviss will keep an eye on everyone's needs but is worried about the imminent closure of the Crouch Line and its effect on his operation at Hisega Lodge.
Everyone has a past and a motive! Come join the fun!
Looking for something fun and unusual for a group of friends or family? Book a mystery party at Hisega Lodge!
This is a fun night for everyone with crimes, detectives and plenty of motives to go around.
Here's how it works: Book your night at least a month in advance, then work with Carol to pick a theme and assign character roles to your participants.
There's no script to memorize. Instead, characters receive role descriptions and costume suggestions in advance. Then the participants simply act in character, ham it up and watch their backs.
As events unfold and crimes are committed, the players will use their sleuthing skills to solve the crime, confront the perpetrator and make as much money as they can.
Each game needs at least ten and up to twenty adult players.
Price varies, but usually it's around a hundred dollars per person. This includes dinner, dessert, lodging, the mystery game and tons of laughs and fun. In the morning, enjoy a delicious Hisega Lodge breakfast and relive the previous night's memories.
Your guests will probably want to create costumes for their characters, and that makes it a lot more fun - shop at the thrift store, the party store or rent a costume. There's nothing like a hat to lend authenticity to a character!
Prizes for Best Costume, Best Actor, Best Detective, plus a special award for the player who ends the game with the most $$$!
We do not allow online booking for mystery parties, so call Carol at
